MingleMoon and Friends Child Safety Standards
Last updated October 1, 2026. For MingleMoon and Friends, made by HappyDead Designs. The
two apps share one account.
If a child is in danger right now, call 911 (or your local emergency number).
Then report it to NCMEC's CyberTipline: report.cybertip.org or
1-800-843-5678. More below.
MingleMoon (a dating app) and Friends (for making friends and meeting up in groups) are for adults
18 and older only. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation
(CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page says what we forbid, how to report it,
what we do about it, and how to reach us.
1. Our standards: zero tolerance
- Everyone must be 18 or older. Sign-up asks for your birth month and year, and an
account can't be made with an age under 18.
- Accounts that appear to belong to someone under 18 are removed.
- These are banned everywhere in our apps: in text, pictures, GIFs, videos, voice clips, profiles,
chats, hangouts, Lounge posts and gift notes.
- Any sexual content involving anyone under 18, whether real, drawn or made with AI. This is
child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
- Sexualising children in any way, including sexual comments about a child.
- Grooming: trying to contact, befriend or win the trust of a child for sexual reasons, or
trying to meet a child for sex.
- Sextortion: threatening to share someone's intimate pictures unless they send more pictures,
money or anything else.
- Trafficking: offering, selling or buying a child for sex, or helping anyone do it.
- Asking for, offering or sharing any of the above.
- Breaking these rules gets the account removed and banned from both apps, and we report it to
NCMEC's CyberTipline, which passes reports on to the police (see section 3).
2. How to report it
Everything people post in our apps can be reported. The person you report is never told who reported
them.
- A profile (both apps): open it and tap Report at the top.
- A chat (both apps): the menu (⋮) at the top of the chat →
Report / block.
- A hangout (Friends): open it and tap Report. To report someone
who is going to a hangout or writing in its group chat, tap their name in the hangout's "Going" list
to open their profile, then tap Report.
- A Lounge post (both apps): the post's menu (⋮) →
Report.
- A Discussions topic or reply (both apps, in the Lounge under Discussions): open the
topic and use the menu (⋮) at the top for the topic, or the reply's menu (⋮) →
Report.
- A gift (MingleMoon): Matches → Gifts, tap the gift →
Report.
Pick "Looks under 18" as the reason. If it is an intimate picture of you shared
without your consent, pick "This is me / shared without my consent" instead, or use our
removal request page.
Blocking: when you report someone you can also block them ("Also block them"), and
a Lounge post's menu (⋮) has Block. A block works in both apps: they can't message
you any more, and the apps leave them out of the people, hangouts and Lounge posts you see. You can see
who you blocked under
Me → Blocked people.
You can report Lounge posts, and Discussions topics and replies, once you have been in the
Lounge for a day (this stops throwaway accounts from hiding other people's posts). Until then, report the
person from their profile (tap their name on the post or reply), block them, or email us.
By email: happydead313@gmail.com,
subject "Child safety". You don't need an account. Tell us where it is: the person's first name, what
their profile or post says, which app, and roughly when. Please don't send us the picture, and
don't screenshot, save or forward it: just tell us where to find it.
What happens next
- We review every report, and treat child-safety reports as the most urgent.
- Every profile photo, video and voice intro, and every Lounge picture, is checked by us before anyone
else can see it.
- In MingleMoon and Friends, the app also checks every picture for nudity on the phone before it is
sent, and a person checks every picture before anyone else sees it.
- In the Lounge, a single "Looks under 18" report hides the post's picture from everyone straight away
while we check it. A post that 3 people report is hidden until we review it, and so is a Discussions
reply.
- If an account appears to belong to someone under 18, we remove it.
- If it involves the sexual abuse or exploitation of a child, we act as described in section 3.
3. What we do about child sexual abuse material
When we find apparent CSAM, or someone tells us about it:
- We take it out of the app at once. Nobody in the app can see it any more.
- We keep it securely, as the law requires. The evidence is kept in private storage
that only the administrator can reach and that is never shown in the apps, and every step we take
with it is recorded in our admin log. We keep it for 1 year after we report it (longer only if NCMEC
or the police ask), then delete it.
- We report it to NCMEC's CyberTipline (the US National Center for Missing &
Exploited Children). NCMEC makes reports available to the police in the US and other countries.
- The account is removed and banned from both apps. Its sign-in is turned off, so
the same Google account can't sign in again.
- We cooperate with law enforcement: we keep evidence when they ask and answer valid
legal requests.
- Exact copies are blocked. We keep a one-way fingerprint of the picture (not the
picture itself), so the same file can't be posted in our apps again. An edited copy has a different
fingerprint, which is one more reason reports matter.
4. Following child-safety laws
We follow US federal law, including 18 U.S.C. 2258A, which requires online services to
report apparent child sexual abuse material to NCMEC's CyberTipline as soon as reasonably possible and to
keep what they reported. Since the REPORT Act (2024), that material must be kept for 1 year. We also follow
the child-safety laws of every other place where our apps are offered.
Our child-safety point of contact is the person who runs HappyDead Designs, the maker of MingleMoon and
Friends, at happydead313@gmail.com.
They can speak about how we prevent and handle child sexual abuse material. Anyone can write to this
address about child sexual abuse or exploitation in our apps, about these standards, or about how we
handle reports. That includes NCMEC, the police and Google.
6. If a child is in danger now
- Call 911 (in the US) or your local emergency number.
- Report it to NCMEC's CyberTipline: report.cybertip.org
or 1-800-843-5678 (1-800-THE-LOST).
- Then tell us too (report it in the app or email us), so we can remove it and keep the evidence.
